Short version: we collect what an order needs and nothing else, we do not sell any of it, and you can ask us to delete it.
Your WhatsApp number, which is also your account. Your name, delivery address and — if you give it — an email address for order updates and invoices.
What you ordered, what you paid, and where the parcel got to. Reviews and photographs, if you send them. Anything you write to us in a message, because that is how we answer it.
A little technical information every website receives: your IP address, browser and device type, and which pages you opened here. We use it to keep the site working and to spot abuse, not to build a profile of you.
We do not collect your card number, your UPI PIN, or any government ID. If anyone claiming to be us asks you for those, they are not us.
To take an order and deliver it, to confirm a cash-on-delivery order before we send it, to raise a tax invoice, to handle a return or a refund, and to answer you when you write.
To send order updates on WhatsApp — confirmed, dispatched, out for delivery. Those are service messages about a specific order, and they are not marketing.
To work out, before dispatch, how likely an order is to come back undelivered, so we can check an address or offer online payment. That check only ever adds an option or a message. It never withholds cash on delivery from you, and no decision that affects you is made by a machine alone.
We send offers on WhatsApp only to people who have explicitly opted in. Not opting in changes nothing about your orders — you still get every update about a parcel you are waiting for.
Reply STOP to any marketing message, or write to us, and it ends. We act on it immediately, not at the end of a campaign.
Order records, invoices and anything else tax and accounting law requires: as long as that law requires, which is currently eight years from the end of the financial year.
Everything else — your account, addresses, wishlist, message history — until you ask us to delete it, or until the account has been dormant for three years and we clear it ourselves.
Traffic to this site is encrypted. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the shop, and admin access is logged. Payment details never reach our servers at all.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, rather than hope you do not notice.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, withdraw a consent you gave, or nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot.
Write to hello@flueartpottery.com from the account you want to act on, and we answer within 48 hours. It costs nothing, and asking never affects how we treat you.
Deleting an account does not delete the invoices behind orders you have already placed. We are not allowed to destroy those, and we will say so rather than quietly keep them.
This shop is not for children. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18, and we delete it if we find we have.
The date at the foot of this page is when it last changed. If we ever start doing something materially different with your data, we will tell you rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
Questions, requests and complaints about your data go to Nasir Ansari, our grievance officer, at hello@flueartpottery.com.
If we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. We would much rather you gave us the chance first.
